In the Eastern African country of..........

Somalia 18 years of war continues unabated. In a UN supported refugee camp in East Kenya a woman tells her story of horror and loss.

As her three year old daughter wipes her mother's tears, with her tiny hands, the mother of nine, wife and teacher was living a good and productive life, when her home was attacked. "I lost five of my children as well as my husband", she said through an interpretor.

A recent surge in violence has made life more dangerous than ever before. A special UN envoy says they are 'doing all we can'.

There are more than 210,000 people in this one camp; and, every day there are more than 300 new arrivals. In 2008, alone the camp has expanded more than 20 percent.

The UN's refugee agency states that the numbers will continue to rise. There is every chance that the elderly will die here; the children may never leave.
